Reduce the size of documents with large images
Compression is most useful for PDFs containing photographs, scanned pages, or other heavy image content. It rewrites the PDF with settings that can reduce image size and detail. The result may be easier to share or download, but the amount of reduction depends on how the original file was created and whether its images were already optimized.
Check readability as well as the file size
Compare the downloaded size with your original and inspect small text, diagrams, barcodes, and detailed photographs. If the compressed candidate is larger, ConvertFlow returns the original and explains that no size reduction was achieved. A PDF containing mostly text may have little room to shrink. Keep your source if interactive elements, signatures, or high-quality printing are important.

Why is my PDF not smaller?
Some files are already optimized or contain mostly text. If the generated result is larger, the tool keeps the original and explains that no size reduction was achieved.
Can I guarantee a PDF under a specific size?
No. This tool does not promise a target size or percentage reduction. If the result is still too large, consider removing unneeded pages with Extract PDF Pages or reducing large images in the original document.
Does compressing a scanned PDF make its text searchable?
No. Compression can reduce image detail and file size, but it does not recognize text. A scanned page remains an image. Use OCR PDF separately to recognize English or Romanian text.
